This is a brand that I love to love. It was one of the first I remember noticing for their eco + sustainable message. After a quick read about the brand I found out it was indeed one of the first swimwear brands to get on the eco boat, with their signature EcoLux fabric – a “technically and environmentally superior luxe fabric, made from recycled nylon”. Besides having created a cool planet loving fabric, designer Amahlia Stevens reduces their environmental footprint by employing waterless printing technology and well as incorporating other sustainable materials, plus every piece is produced locally thus reducing transport emission. What is there not to love, huh?!
Vitamin A’s earthy-beach-girl vibe is exactly what caught my eye whilst looking through hundreds of super colourful and busy swimwear. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love colour and fun patterns on my bikinis, I am Portuguese and we love our crazy-busy-colourful Brazilia-cut style swims. But this natural sandy style was a real refresher for me! Can I call it The Californian?
I have yet to get my hands on a pair though, probably my next holiday purchase 🙂 Which is coming up sooner than I thought, I might add. Whoop whoop!!! But where? Have a guess.
I have been dreaming about Del Maar forever, since I first stumbled into the brand while stalking bikinis on IG. Definitely one of my next bikini purchases! Christmas present to myself this year I think.
To be really honest, the main reason I haven’t bought one yet is mainly because I can’t pick just the one. I want them all. I NEED!
I am Portuguese. I like cool little bikinis. Not the extra tiny and sexy looking numbers. But rather more fun, cool and comfy. The handmade extras are like the icing on my vegan cake. Right?
The reversible pieces are super gorgeous and for someone who is usually funny about weird prints on swimwear… 💙✨ I am all hearts and stars for these.
For my first post on my favourite bikini brands, it just had to be CANTÊ! Yes, I am Portuguese and whilst I do always favourite national designers, Cantê would be in my top 5 list even if I weren’t from Portugal. Scroll down for pics and I think you’ll agree, there is nothing like this wonderful label.
In my humble opinion, I feel the brand has set the path for a unique Portuguese swimwear style – young, cool and laidback.
The prints, oh the prints … the mix and overlaying of patterns and colours, is just pure happiness. I also love their whole vibe. Their campaigns are real, not over touched or fake in any way – the girl next door image – which is what I relate to.
Cantê has also recently launched “My First Cantê”, a collection of children’s swimwear, “My Intimate Cantê”, a line of dainty underwear and a few accessories as well. I have a lot going on my Santa list this year!
Now drool over these joyful pieces… Here are some of my faves.
Woke up to these fiery skies. How can we not have an amazing day after being immersed by these colours? …and the soft playful breeze, the sound of the waves breaking on my doorstep. Just heaven!
It only lasted about 4 minutes, before I had to start rushing to get the day going 😂 Get breakfasts and snacks ready before trying to get the kids up, dressed, fed and just kind of presentable for school. Oh… and that shower, no time! Bah… Grabbed the first dress I got my hands on and off we went.
Waking up this morning to this stupendously gorgeous view was just what I needed to get out my blues…
It’s been a very long few months. But moments like these make everything better. Waking up and getting outside before I get the kids up, even if it’s only for a few minutes and on our balcony, it’s a mostly perfect start to the crazy hectic days that await us.
What’s your idea of a perfect start to the weekday?
We’ve just moved to the “country side” or the closest thing to it, living in the insane city of Macau.
It’s Summer. Myself and the kids didn’t have a chance to go on holiday this year, as we do every summer and have just been making the most of our life at home. My babies are definitely outdoorsy children and spend most of their days monkeying around outside.
Our days start with lazy breakfasts looking out at the sea followed by lots of water play on the balcony. The kids spend the day in their swimming suits. Between swimming in the local pool, running in the green grassy park, cycling around the neighborhood, pladding on our “front yard” and building sand castles on our black sand beach, it has certainly been a very diferente summer for my family.
That’s right lovely people, you guessed it… Another weekend, another trail race from hell! 🔥 And when I say hell, I mean it.
When I decided in the beginning of Summer to sign up for the 30k race, I though ” meh… have all Summer to prep and get back to FIT”. WRONG! I laced up my running shoes all of four times throughout the WHOLE of the kids’ holls. Shame…
Was definitely not ready for this course at Plover Cove and I must admit, I was kind of in denial about it all. It only actually sank in, sat in the cab, on the way to the start point. No joke. I’d done a similar race course – ULTRA Hong Kong – in the same country park back in April and almost died. Didn’t take any water or energy with me and it was a 35+K run. So rough! This time around I didn’t prep for the race, but I had water and gels, which took me to the end, only just…
5K into the race, I tripped and smashed flat on a pile of rocks, as you do… I cried for about two seconds though, before pretending nothing happened and you know, get going again.
It was a gorgeous, super tough climb and run under a blazing sun. Great prep for the upcoming 30K Trail Hiker Macau, happening in early November.
The Green Race organisers are so, so good! The course was extremely well marked out from beginning to end. No one got lost – like in the last Kayk + Run at Deep Water Bay a couple of weeks ago.
We had ice water throughout the whole race, amazing snacks and an ice cold beer as soon as we crossed the finish line.
Absolutely amazing! Signing up for the next one already 🏃🏽♀️
